Applications Engineer
Weatherite Air Conditioning Limited

Responsible for design and application of products in response to customer enquiries. 

To process designated projects from enquiry through to successful receipt of order.

This position is office based and will involve:

• Using AHU selection software – Design equipment and engineer solutions based on customer requirements and project specifications
• Select suitable components, ensuring technical compatibility, cost-effectiveness and availability
• Produce accurate estimates, quotations and detailed specifications
• Process projects on the ERP system (M1) to ‘hand over’ jobs to allow production of equipment
• Maintain relevant areas of the ERP system to ensure accurate project data, e.g ‘bill of materials’
• Supporting the technical design team with R&D projects.
• Liaising with other departments.
• Liaising with clients.
• Occasional site surveys

Applicants should:

• have experience in a similar or related role, e/g applications, design and estimating or technical support, within manufacturing or project-based environments
• preferably have knowledge of or experience in the HVAC /refrigeration industry
• have a basic understanding of AHU product and associated services
• have ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and customer requirements
• be proficient in Microsoft Office
• have experience with engineering software, ideally with experience of M1
• be comfortable working to tight deadlines, being able to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
• have excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers.

Candidates with a qualification in engineering (mechanical, electrical or related discipline) will be of particular interest.
