Health and Safety Engineer

Health and Safety Engineer - Office-based

Reporting to the Senior Health and Safety Engineer.

To produce and maintain compliant Health and Safety systems for site works that meets with current legislation with particular emphasis on the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

To include:

  • undertaking audits (office & site) to monitor our compliance
  • identifying corrective action necessary to remedy any compliance failings
  • producing site documentation to include: Method Statements, Risk Assessment and Construction Phase Plans
  • vetting new sub-contractors and monitoring their Health & Safety performance
  • input to the upkeep of the company Health & Safety Policy
  • occasional Quality Assurance compliance audits within the Contracts department
  • completing new and on-going client Pre-Qualification Questionnaires

The successful candidate should:

  • have experience in a similar role/sector
  • have a working knowledge of CDM regs
  • have a H&S qualification, i.e NEBOSH or suitable equivalent
  • have a full UK driving licence
  • be prepared to travel nationally on occasion, with overnight stays possible
  • ideally have a SMSTS qualification
  • ideally have experience of undertaking internal audits but training can be given.
